I was in Manchester for 3 days at the end of last week
The most overrated place in England. Embarrasingly so. It was full of litter in the way that London could never be.

    Lunch and that's it
I had the most digusting chicken, bacon, maynoaise and rocket green wrap at lunch time. I am still feeling the after effects now. Yuk.

I can't believe I have only got two more days at work. Horay.

    From forum to forum
I am going from one forum on politicalbetting.com to another on dlisted.com. Both forums look identical in style and format but the content is totally different (British politics and gossip and entertainment - I am sure I am going to mis-post in both comments section and get a lot of weird internet looks). Good!

Yet Another Post and Another Cup of Tea
Bored, unethused and a bit pessimistic (shame Tottenham won - they never deserve to - and amusing that West Ham lost again - sorry Mr Newton).

It was nice to see that David Cameron again made it the commitment of the Tories to scrap ID cards. I hope he and his party have a successful weekend.

My favourite new artist at the moment (and a fellow south Londoner to boot) is Jamie T (www.Jamie-T.com). I shall be hopefully seeing him in Preston on Thursday evening (I wonder how he is goes down oop North).

Nice quotes from BBT about Angelina and Brad in this article:

Its interesting that both Angelina's ex husbands are (1) still good friends with her and (2) have nothing but good things to say about her. She pisses on any other hollywood actress does she not.

Mark Newton (the baldy man on the left)

Your average petit bourgeois West Ham fan (yes they do exist even if just in the singular!), here integrating himself with one of our friends from across the Atlantic. On a positive note, I believe he is very good air guitarist and an aficionado of the early works of Mark King and Level 42.

    Still Pissing It Down Outside
I have been out shopping and boringly bought just essentials. I will now have the much more enjoyable experience of clothes and beauty shopping when I go to Manchester on Thursday (I am actually going up quite late on Wednesday night). It still pouring with rain constantly and yes I got caught in the showers (I had to change my jeans because they were totally drenched).

Yes, I am rather bored, hence the multiple posts so far today. I have to say it is rather enjoyable just putting down my rambling thoughts and then updating my journal to be read by no-one but still can be accessed by all and sundry if they somehow come across them. I think I might put in some hot subject or may obscure subjects so if somebody is searching on google they will come across my inane ramblings...

    Wet, windy and depressed...
... yes its your atypical Sunday afternoon. Still haven't gone out shopping because of the weather - I might go out in a mo - I am not sure going out in a thunderstorm is going to help my cold (I sound like a right hypercondriac!). I was just looking at mydeathspace.com which is very depressing. It looks at the deaths of myspace users. The average aged of the recently departed is about 18. And there are literally hundreds and hundreds of death listed.

Its brightened up outside but still pissing down violently. I might go and have a cup of tea (and a couple of ibuforens) instead and look out at the window and feel lucky that I am sitting inside.

    Sunday morning, 10.49 am...
To paraphrase a mid 1990s britpop minor hit. I am not feeling much better this morning (note to self: don't drink half a bottle of white wine, a couple of glasses of sparkling white wine and a couple of shots of whisky while coping with a bad cold). Yes, I am very catarrh ridden - yuk!

Having Sunday lunch at my parents (with my younger sister). This will include my mum's fish pie which is the best fish pie ever, the downside of this being that I can never order fish pie anywhere else as it will be a huge disappointment.

I am off to the shops this afternoon (window shopping mainly - me being one of the few Brits who does not flash their cards that readily). I do need to buy some new shoes: work shoes so they will be black and pretty stylish but be as comfortable as trainers. They will of course be flat - I am getting old...

I am always want to get quite a few nice dresses and skirts for my winter wardrobe. Out with the jeans and t-shirts in with the classic designs.

    The last day of September.
Its wet (very autumnal) but mild and yes the days are getting shorter and I am getting more depressed because of it and the fact that I have had, for over a week, a horrible cold.

Anyway, Nick Wire from the Manic Street Preachers summed up my views on 1990s/2000s British music.

Anyway the Conservative conference next week. The Tories are back on level pegging with New Labour (why any one supports that shower of shite anymore I don't know). Hopefully they will be back up the polls after this week's conference and will be hearing less from the enormously smug New Labour types.

    Current Mood: As always...
